The Bird Park in Foz do Iguaçu is a Conservation Center for birds that make up the Atlantic Forest. Inaugurated 07 October 1994 day. The first birds arrived with some donations and many loans from Brazilian zoos sent by Ibama. John another great friend of the family, arrived in Foz do Iguaçu to assist in the construction and foundation of the Butterfly.
Shortly after his great achievement Dennis fell ill. Two years after founding the Bird Park, he died in the UK at 70 years of age. Shortly after his death they built a memorial dedicated to him in his favorite place of the Park, in the Viveiro Aves de Rios and Mangues.
Dennis' daughter, Dr. Carmel Croukamp, general director of the Bird Park since 2010, still spreads all her father's love for birds, and continues to help preserve species.
