Exactly 41 years ago, Hotel Tarobá, considered today one of the best hotels in the Foz do Iguaçu region, was beginning to write its history. A story that was not always easy, faced difficulties and made it - something that we Tarobá Hotel we are proud to divulge, we were considered the first 3 stars hotel in the country!
Inaugurated in 1978 by Emilia Mendes and Francisco Sebastiany, the hotel that started with 19 apartments and 8 employees, today has 176 apartments and a staff of more than 60 employees. Emília, who started in the hotel business influenced by her parents working together with them in the hotels of her family, the Estoril Hotel and the Mirante Hotel, decided to make her own way by founding the Hotel Tarobá.
In 2001, Emília went through great difficulties taking on alone the enterprise that suffered from the hotel crisis faced by Foz do Iguaçu due to the high drop in tourism in the city. Difficult times where, Emily remembers that she even accepted about 30 monthlyists to be able to keep the hotel.
"It was with these mensalistas that I survived," says Emília.
Evolution of the Hotel Tarobá
At 2003, Mauro Sebastiny, one of her three children, joined the hotel administration to help her mother in the hotel business and together with her mother generated changes that transformed Hotel Tarobá into what it is today.
Professional and motivational recruitment courses were offered to employees, thus improving their attendance and well-being. Recreation and recreation areas were created to enhance hospitality, a tourism agency was born and set up to make it easier for guests to travel, even small things like a breakfast for gluten intolerant and lactose cooperated with hotel growth .

In the midst of innovation, the Hotel Tarobá went ahead in the hotel market of Foz do Iguaçu and in 2006, received the certificate of first 3 stars hotel of the country by the Ministry of Tourism and by the Brazilian Association of Hotel Industry (Abih). With this recognition the hotel ended up attracting new looks and reaching new audiences that made 2009 a new tower built on the hotel grounds, thus increasing the service and quality of the accommodations.
